• What I Learned Today

    Science- I Learned About wind erosion.

    History- We reviewed Rome’s Military, Rome’s Legal System, The Early Wars of Rome, and The Samnite Wars.

    English- We talked about Punctuation basics.

    Math- We talked about coordinating equations.

  • What I Learned Today.

    Science- We reviewed the water cycle, water infiltration, surface runoff, and water erosion.

    History- We talked about the Samnite War. This was a war between the Samnites and the Romans. The war was not going well for either side. The Samnites wanted a peace treaty , so it was arranged. Te peace treaty was signed, but this war lead to more conflicts in the future. The second Samnite war started because of a broken peace treaty becauce of the Romans. The Romans won. The there was the Third War. The Third War was when the Romans Finished of the Samnites.

    English- We talked avoiding mistakes with similar-sounding words (homophones).

    Math- We Talked about the Coordinate Graph.

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We talked about water erosion. There are different types of water erosion, some are sheet erosion, rill erosion, gully erosion, and stream-ban erosion.

    History- We talked about the early wars of Rome. One of the earliest one was the Gallic War. It started because of a broken peace treaty between the Romans and the Gauls. The Romans lost and had to pay 1000 pounds of gold.

    English- We reviewed the story, “The Golden Fleece” in Tanglewood Tales.

    Math- We talked about line graphs

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We talked about surface runoff. Surface runoff can lead to floods and maybe even flash floods.

    History- We Learned about Rome’s Legal System. Rome’s most important contribution was the Jurist. The Jurist was to study, analyze, and interpret laws and develop the science of law. The way the Romans did things was very brutal. Criminals would not be imprisoned they would be exiled.

    English- We reviewed the story “The Dragons Teeth” from Tanglewood Tales and we read the story, “The Golden Fleece”.

    Math- We talked about histograms. They are very similar to a bar chart but a histograms is used for numerical data.

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We were learned about water infiltration.

    History- We talked about the Roman Military. The Roman Military was known for it legions. Every Legions had 4200 soldiers, divided into 4 different types, and organized into, “maniples”. The maniples had 120 soldiers each and were organized by experience. Commander Marius reorganized some of the army in 100 BC. Now all citizens could be part of the army and now they had a full-time military.

    English- We reviewed the story The Pygmies from the book Tanglewood Tales and read, “The Dragons Teeth”.

    Math- We reviewed measuring spread, bar charts, pie charts, and stem-and-leaf plot.

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We talked about the water cycle.

    History- We reviewed Roman Games, Roman Religion, and The Roman Republic.

    English- We reviewed “The Minotaur” from the book Tanglewood Tales and we read ” The Pygmies”

    Math- We talked about Stem-and-leaf plots. They shows very small sets of data.

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We reviewed soil profiles and soil surveys.

    History- We talked more about the Roman Republic. There were sensors 2 were elected from the old consuls every 5 years. There were Praetors They were 8 men appointed to be judges. There were so other like Aediles, 4 men that supervised trade, public buildings, and payed for the games. There was once more position called the Quaestores they were 20 financial administrators. Later a new positions opened up called the Dictator.

    English- We talked about reading Tangle Wood for Boys and Girls. We read, The Minotaur.

    Math- We talked about Pie Charts.

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We talked about soil surveys. It shows the different types of soils and the properties of them.

    History- We learned about the Roman Republic. We talked about how the Roman Republic started and what it consisted of. The Republic had 2 Leaders called the consuls, these men were elected every year so they had to do good to keep there positions. The consuls were really good at defending Rome and it was a successful government.

    English- We reviewed writing a book report.

    Math- We talked about bars charts and we looked at many examples of them.

  • What I Learned In School Today

    Science- We talked about soil classification. It taught us the different types of soil in different areas of the continent.

    History- We talked about Rome Religion. Roman Religion was very much like Greek Mythology. It was also a give and expect to receive kind of religion. This religion consisted of rituals and festivals.

    English- We talked about Double Negative, Articles, and Contractions.

    Math- We talked about measuring spread.

  • What I Learned Today

    Science- We talked more about soil.

    History- We talked about the Roman games. There were 93 straight days of games. There were morning and afternoon games. There were the Chariot Races. The main event was the Gladiator Fights, there were over 10,000 gladiators.

    English- We talked more about a writing a book report.

    Math- We reviewed Mean, Median, Mode, Range, and percentiles.
