What I Learned Today

Science- We learned about aquifers. An aquifer is water underground so if you deep enough you can come across water. Wells start off as an aquifer, people dig into the ground and they come across water, then they build a little system to get the water out, so it becomes a well.

History- We talked about Julius Caesar and Pompey. Pompey was a victorious General in Spain. In 70 BC Pompey and his friend Crassus returned to Rome and demanded that they be Consuls. In 60 BC they both made an alliance with Julius Caesar. They worked together and became a triumvirate. In time they all became Consuls. The triumvirate did not last very long because Crassus died in battle, Julius took part in politics, and Pompey was given a command in Spain. In 48 BC Julius fought against Pompey’s army and he won and killed Pompey because he was trying to take control of the government. He made himself Dictator of Rome and made it permanent. Julius instituted important reforms. Not everyone was happy with him being the permanent Dictator so, he was assinated by his own friends.

English- We talked about capitalization in titles.

Math- We reviewed the Exam.
